Service Commands

Command Description
/install [<displayName>] [<description>] [<instanceId>]

Installs the network monitor as a Windows Service.

Parameter Description
<displayName>

The name of the service as it should appear in the machine's Services control panel.

[Default: Network License Monitoring Service]

<description>

A description of the service as it should appear in the machine's Services control panel.

[Default: Manages network license authentication and authorization]

<instanceId>

Unique ID for this instance of the service. Used to distinguish multiple installations of the service on the same machine.

[Default: NLMService]

/serviceaccount <name> [<password>]

The user account to install the service under when using /install.

Parameter Description
<name> The account's username.
<password> The account password. Optional for NT AUTHORITY\LocalService and NT AUTHORITY\NetworkService accounts. Required for all others.
/uninstall [<instanceId>]

Uninstalls the network monitor as a Windows Service. <instanceId> if provided during install must match the value used to install the service.

/releaselicense

Releases the license for the network license service so that it can be installed on another machine.

/start [<instanceId>]

Starts the network monitor service. <instanceId> if provided during install of the instance to start.

/restart [<instanceId>]

Restarts the network monitor service. <instanceId> if provided during install of the instance to start.

/stop [<instanceId>]

Stops the network monitor service. <instanceId> if provided during install of the instance to stop.

/status [<instanceId>]

Checks the status of the service. Returns 0 for running, othewise non-zero.

/register <serialNumber> [<autoActivate>]

Unlock the network license service with your <serialNumber>. If <autoActivate> is 'yes', the service will be activated with the central license server.

/extend <extensioncodes>

Process a license extension code to increase the number of licenses that this network license service can authorize.

/debug[+/-]

Turns on debug logging. Log written to [AppData]\\XHEO INC\\Nlm\\Service Debug Log.txt

/quiet Turns off status messages when processing command line requests. (Short form: /q)
/help Shows this help text. (Short form: /?)
